Big night for the blog!

swisher250_041109.jpgSwisher had three Red Bulls and three RBI.

Teixeira had balloons — white, black and silver — hanging above his locker and was given a birthday cake by his teammates. A.J. might have been the organizer, not sure about that. Sources say the cake read: “Happy Birthday, Mark. From the Baltimore Orioles.” Nice touch.

Teixeira thinks he’ll play tomorrow but said his left wrist is sore. Joba-Meche should be a good one. I wouldn’t be surprised if Ransom gets a day off, but Girardi wouldn’t give away the lineup tonight. Both teams are holding optional batting practice; the weather, unfortunately, could be an issue.

Finally, folks, this could be a big night for the blog: Bruney not only asked about this little endeavor of ours, he promised to comment! Coolio! One of his teammates told Bruney he couldn’t use curse words. Bruney then said he didn’t know if that was possible. We shall see.

Had to haul tail to make the bus tonight, by the way. CC and his wife were a football field ahead of me as the bus came into view, and I KNEW they wouldn’t leave without them. I made it!

I don’t know anybody elses take, but I think that Swish should save some of that energy for the post season. Also on Thursday the Yanks are opening the stadium, thats great, but it’s a day game, I’m either skipping school to watch it or I’m gonna be upset that I missed it… Why didn’t they make it a night game?

I don’t know anybody elses take, but I think that Swish should bottle some of that energy for the post season. Lets hope they get the game in on Sunday, I want to see how Joba starts his season. And since Mr. Bruney is going to comment… I would like to know how he feels being one of the set up men for Mo.

I just read through your blog & have to say I totally enjoyed it.

Ahhhhhh! What’s up with the make up person. You’re begining to sound like a stalker

Well MLBlogs has a censor that should take care of it if Bruney gets out of hand, lol..
As for Ransom, I think Girardi should indeed give him a rest and put Pena in. Cody’s not cutting it.
Three Red Bulls a game for Swish? I wonder what happens when he drinks four..
“From the Baltimore Orioles.” – LOL, hysterical.

I like what I have seen out of Swish so far. He seems like a whole lot of energy. The ball club looks really tight this season which is nice to see. It reminds me of the yanks back in the late 90’s. Kim, I first came across your blog when Michael Kay mentioned it on air as I just happened to be on this site looking something up. So I had to check it out because I also was recently asked to start blogging on a site, so I like to check out other bloggers . I like how you have been doing it so far. It gives the fans a more personable approach to the club. I love the continous mentioning of Kay’s dietary habits.

Whiffle ball? I’ve never seen a whiffle ball hit that far. With Swisher hitting well, Teixeira can take his time and make sure the wrist is going to be OK. At least that’s two problems Joe won’t have to worry about for a couple of days.

Love the blog. It really adds a personal element to the baseball season. As an avid fan I think it is great that you are letting us into your world. It is really interesting to read about how your life is on the road. And the food updates crack me up!

I do have to comment on your love of running in a hot room. I do most of my running outside but if I do run inside I literally melt since the gym is usually way too hot! Keep up the running though.

Hey Kim, next time you need help catching the bus, just jump on Swisher’s back and dangle a Red Bull in front of his face. You’ll do the mile in just under 3 minutes!!

By the way, I changed my username from mlb2008 to this. The old one was a fantasy baseball name from last year. Please NOTE the change! lol

Kim, really like the blog, I heard Michael Kay mention it during the game the other night. You have always been one of my favorites on YES.The blog gives everyone an inside look at what it’s like to cover my favorite team.

Do you expect any comments by Michael Kay him ?
