Beef and boos from Baltimore
I will never do a weather forecast again. I will never do a weather forecast again. I will never …
So, today’s pregame show was going along swimmingly, plenty of sunshine and fun times with Bob. I happened to mention the clear skies and emphasized HOW WRONG the “ominous forecast” was. Oops!
As soon as I finish my little report, I turn around. Tarp still on the field. Uh-oh. Black clouds rolling in. Shoot. Rain. Serious rain. Oh, no!
Nice job by me.
Luckily, we seem headed for an on-time start. I’ll say no more.
The press dining in Baltimore is one of my faves, especially when they have crab cakes. They usually go one per plate. I always ask for two.
But, today, the main dish was Boog’s Pit Beef sandwich. Ate it like a savage. Unfortunately, dining at the stadium becomes a fact of life when the season starts. Most options don’t measure up to Boog’s. Most, I just skip.
Kay, apparently, doesn’t share my affection for Boog’s. He just returned to the booth with a bacon hamburger and fries. Lots of bacon. I told him that was a bloggable offense.
Elaborate pre-game festivities going on. Teixeira really, really got booed. With venom. He seemed to enjoy it.
By the way, I checked with Cano about his locker situation — that he and Melky, his best friend, are on opposite sides of the clubhouse at Yankee Stadium. I asked if he and Melky were fighting; Robbie laughed.
I asked if they get mad — and stay mad — at each other, like girls do. He smiled, shook his head and said, “No!”
Turns out, it’s just a coincidence. Those were the only lockers open, so they are half a clubhouse apart. Robbie says they’ll live with it.
Mixed reception for Joe Biden on the first-pitch scenario.
See you for the postgame!
an in-game blog update! I love it! 🙂 Keep it up!!
Hi Kim, this is a crazy question but I really really love makeup and was wondering if I could please ask you questions about it? Do you wear makeup if so how often and what kind do you use? Do you like makeup and wearing it? Also do you have a makeup artist that does your makeup and if so what is it like and what do you think of it? Is it ok and do you mind if I continue to ask you about makeup and if so will you answer? Please reply and answer back to me.
Hi Kim,
Just wanted to say this is a great idea and that you do an awesome job for YES. Loved the job you did Saturday night at the new stadium. KEEP it up your awesome !!!!

Hey Kim, forecasting the weather is the best job someone can have. They could always be wrong and never get in trouble for it.
Today’s game was depressing. Way too much like last year.
Our starter is driven out early. Our bullpen heroically tries to keep us in the game only to finally lose it (a la Marte, epecially last year). We can’t get the big run (I yelled something obscene when Jeter grounded out. Jeter, Jeter, Jeter, lay down a bunt. You had a good hitter coming up behind you, it made sense). This depressed me.
I like Coke, though. He pitched quite well before the homer. Girardi just should have stuck Mo in there and forgetten about it, though.
Knowing Michael Kay, I’m guessing the only thing on that burger was the 2 buns and a strip of bacon. And no ketchup with the fries, am I right?
Yea man todays game was depressing i almost shut it off. I didnt of course i love the yanks to much to do that! Im hoping that they can turn this around after all it is just one game but after doing so good against the CUBS i mean come on! By the way I want to be a YESnetwork sportscaster for the yankees im only 18 but i wanted to know if there were any internships available?
Teixeira loved the booing. Wait until he comes back to Anaheim. He should have just kept his big trap shut. He had the nerve to say the Angels blabbed to the media. Scott Boreus is the one who leaks everything to the press. The Angels don’t say anything. I think Teix will really hear the boos hear.
I see he had a couple chances to help the offense. Before Matsui hit a homer he didn’t come through. That would have tied the score. Later he grounded out to end a rally. He was never like that as an Angel. I guess the pressure has already ruined him.
Hi Kim…I’m curious, how much freedom do you have wit the questions that are asked to Girardi and the players? Also, I noticed Jeter always smiles when you interview him. Are you trying to become Mrs Kimberly Jones-Jeter? lol
If you could do in game blogging that would be fun but who wants to be typing when you can watch the game? And tell Kay to start eating turkey burgers! lol

Hey Kim,
Just wanted to let you know that I am thrilled to see you have started up your first blog via the YES Network and MLB.com.
You do a fantastic job on YES, and my father and I always comment on how great you do with your interviews. You ask the hard-hitting questions when needed, and really have a way of keeping listeners glued to the television set.
Keep up the great work and the blogging, and I hope you stick with us for quite some time. Best woman in baseball by far (Hazel Mae, Tina Cervasio, and Erin Andrews are a joke), and you really know the game and your craft.

Welcome to the MLBlogs family. I think the only place one can predict the weather accurately is in southern California.
