My Week 1 picks
It’s time for some TWIF picks! That’s right, I’ll be making my football picks here during the season and competing against the guys on “This Week in Football.” We pick the Giants and Jets games and one wildcard — straight up, no spread. Fingers crossed, here goes:
Giants over Redskins. The Giants pass rush will harass Jason Campbell. Brandon Jacobs will run over someone. The receivers will catch some of Eli Manning’s passes.
Texans over Jets. Houston has Andre Johnson, DeMeco Ryans and Dunta Robinson. The Texans have to finish above .500 one of these years. And Mark Sanchez is a rookie.
Saints over Lions. Because I desperately do not want to go 0-fer the first week.
See you later. Remember, YES is doing a pregame and postgame show tonight. The game is on My9.
I don’t know. I think you did pretty good this week.
The G-Men do scare me with their receivers. PLEASE let me be wrong.
The Jets have to grow a little. Would not surprise me if they rally around Sanchez and make a game of it.
Saints over Lions? Hmmm, yes the Lions are oh-fer since 2007, but every dog will have their day. I just hope this isn’t the week for that.
Happy belated Birthday……. Did Kay get you that bday hat the kid was wearing with the candles on it?
Mike
how about even easier ones like , seattle over st louise, pit over tenessee, baltimore over KC
KIM – WHAT A GREAT JOB YOU HAVE AND YOU DO A GREAT JOB FOR YES. IT MUST BE FUN. JUST A LINE TO SAY WHAT A WONDERFUL DAD YOU HAVE. HE HELPED OUR DAUGHTER, LEIGH SHULTZ, GET INTO PENN ST MAIN AS A FRESHMAN. SHE IS A D-TOWN GRAD AND NOW A SENIOR AT PSU MAJORING IN MEDIA STUDIES. I’VE BEEN A YANKEE FAN SINCE I CAN REMEMBER APPROX SINCE 1960 AS THE MICK WAS MY HERO. I HAVE A DOG NAMED MICK – HOW SICK IS THAT. ANYWAY WATCHING YES ALMOST EVERY GAME IS A DREAM COME TRUE AS I USED TO BE FORCED TO WATCH THE SAD O’S. AGAIN HOW LUCKY ARE YOU !!! KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK AND WILL YOU GET A RING? WORLD SERIES THAT IS — THANKS TOM SHULTZ
Happy belated B-day Kim!!!
What scares me about the G-Men are the receiver’s. The
QB needs a top notch receiver to elevate his performance
when it should be the other way. But, defense wins and
they should pull it out. Jet’s D wins the day. Kim, you got
to pick anyother game that does NOT have the Lions, take
a WAG on some other team. Maybe the raiders!?! Hey, did
Pablo make you a B-day cake?
Football, Kim?
Really??????
I love the reporting you do on the Yanks. Please keep it coming. I find football obnoxious and don’t like it encroaching on the baseball season, especially when the Yanks are having such a special season. This is just one reader’s opinion.
Happy belated birthday!!!
I’m a big Eli fan, but I’m really impressed by no recievers except Nicks, and rookie WR’s in the NFL (with theexception of Moss) genrally don’t do so great. So I don’t know what to expect this season.
IMO the Eagles are the most overrated team in the league.
kim,
my son couldn’t help but notict the ENORMOUS glove that cc uses on the mound and is curious to know what kind of glove it is and the size. we are betting it’s an outfielder’s glove, but would love to know for sure.

Hi Kim- Great job today, expecially the champagne hair! My daughter and I covet your job—but we’d never be able to utter a word–we’d be so star-struck. So after so many games watching you, we looked you up, and are happy to see you are a Penn State alum. We are also great fans. We hope you have more champagne interviews this year. You really do a fine job, smart, interested. real. (See if you can give Joe Morgan and Joe Buck some tips—less is more!
