Lunchtime tidbits from the City of Fountains
Sunny afternoon here in KC. Waiting for room service lunch. Thought I’d give you a shout.
Meant to mention that I watched “Yes Man” on flight Thursday night. Laughed out loud several times, which is a good barometer of whether I like a movie or not. Jim Carrey actually reminds me of Bob Lorenz. Very naturally funny guys.
Am probably late to this party, but I love, love, love Duffy’s CD. Listened to it on the plane. And have to download it to my iPod. (Duffy was the name of my first dog. I used to crawl on him. I don’t remember him but have seen pictures.)
A couple of answers to some very, very important questions that have been posted here:
Yes, Vanessa, YES announcers do share a fascination with food. And Matsui speaks some English to his teammates but I mostly hear Japanese. I do think he understands almost all English.
Newygiant wants to know if I wear makeup on TV. The answer: Heck, yes!!
And, yes, mlb2008, I do enjoy interviewing Jeter.
That’s it. The chicken sandwich and two Diet Cokes have arrived. Went with fruit cup instead of fries, which is a terribly difficult decision for me.
Later, skaters!
Hi Kim,
Jeter is a great player in many aspects of the game of baseball but giving inerviews that are interesting is not one of them.
My question to you is how can you enjoy interviewing him when you know what the answer to the question is going to be before you ask it ?
Speaking of informative interviews…
You weren’t around, Kim, when David Cone was playing…but he was by far the best interviewee I have ever heard. Night in and night out he offered the best insight to the team and to himself. And he could pitch a little too. 🙂

Hi Kim
What are your impressions of the new guys? I love all of them, but I’ve taken a particular shine to AJ. He seems like a pretty quiet guy, but with a neat sense of humor (which I always like) and a definite intensity about him. I also find him fascinating because he’s almost got this bad boy-turned-good vibe about him……..It seems like all the new guys have fit in very well with the veterans, like they’ve been here for years almost.
Thanks and keep up the good work; you do a great job!

Hi Kim….keep up with the blogging and you will have quite a following to contend with. It might be hard to blog during the games but in between watching Kay shoving down burgers, check in and give us a nugget or two that we might have missed here at home.
By the way, next time you talk to Chris Shearn, tell him I want my trophy. He and I play baseball in the same league and he beat my team for the championship last year. Chris is a really good guy.
Oh…one other thing. When you next talk to Nick Swisher, can you ask him why he looks up towards the sky right before the pitch is being delivered??
Hi Kim, I know that I asked you about makeup before and how you said you wear it but I really love it and was wondering if I can ask you more about it. Do you like makeup when you wear it and what kind do you use? Would it be possible if you could please give me your email so I could ask you questions I have for you so you could answer them easyer. Why do you wear makeup? Also do you have a makeup artist?
