First chat a success

Couple of day-after thoughts on the chat:

It was awesome! Thanks for the interest and the questions. We’ll have another one Tuesday or Wednesday.

I selected questions on a completely random, rapid-fire basis. I didn’t necessary look for questions that required a quick response and didn’t avoid questions from particular people. (Sorry if you went 0-fer.) The questions were coming in fast and furious; sometimes I tried to click a question and it was already replaced by other questions. We’ll get better at it. It’s a matter of me being a quicker clicker.

To be perfectly honest, there was one question I did stay away from: Is Michael Kay single? He’s not married, obviously, but I didn’t know how much of his personal life I should reveal. So, after the chat, I tell Kay this and he wasn’t happy with me. He wants the world to know he’s single. Single! Ladies, you still have a chance. The line forms to the right.

More later from the Stadium. O’Neill’s in the booth, so that should ensure an eventful culinary experience.

It was a nice chat, Kim. You know us baseball fans can’t get enough information ! You bring out another side to the club which gives it more personality and more off an entertaining side. Love the food updates. Question: If O’neill gets the wrong food order, does he continously smash the fork and knife onto the plate?

Hello Ms. Jones. New here, recommended over by Pete Abraham and glad he did, enjoying your blog very much!

So now, according to Wikipedia, you are not only living with Michael Kay, but as of today, you were rumored to be in a relationship with Kyle Farnsworth.

All this Wikipedia stuff must be somewhat surreal for you…

Anyhow, great chat, great blog, sorry for the idiots out there making stuff up about you and your colleagues in the internet.

    Have a good one.

Hi Kim, I know I asked you if you wear makeup on tv and how you said yes you did but I really love it and was wondering if I could please ask you a lot about it? Do you like makeup and wearing it, what kind do you use? Do you wear makeup when not working and if so what is different from your job use to your personal use? During your next chat can I please ask a lot about makeup, I asked you a lot in the first one about it and didn’t get a reply. Also I think you should answer questions you get on your blog in a video on the site.

When Kay’s personal life becomes a hot topic of conversation, I know the world is coming to an end. Can’t Al Leiter help introduce him to some nice girl from Jersey?

Hi kim, I know that I may be asking you a lot of questions and about makeup a lot but I really love it and like using it. Is it ok with you and do you mind if I continue. If it is a problem or you think I am a stalker just let me know and I will stop. Makeup is very cool and I am very interested in it, I would love to ask you about it. Please answer my questions. What do you think of me asking you makeup questions? I am interested and thinking of wanting to be a makeup artist and want to ses what people who wear think of it

    Hey Kim,

How about some food reports on the Yankee players and what they like to eat? Do they eat before the games or snack between/during innings (ie Matsui, he’s gotta kill the time between at bats somehow)? Does anyone on the team have any food related superstitions?

“If it is a problem or you think I am a stalker just let me know and I will stop”

If this has to be said, it’s probably not a good thing.

Kim, on tonight’s lead in to the broadcast they showed a picture of a Cake done by Ace of Cakes of the Stadium. The shot went by so fast. Is there a way to see a picture of the cake? They do some awesome cakes on that show. I’ll bet the Stadium cake was unbelievable.

But I would also be curious – how do they taste? That’s the most important thing!

I thought last night was cool, and even tho my question didn’t get answered, questions that were close to what I asked did, so it was all good. Only thing I was hoping for that e-mail — 😦

Leave newygiant alone. He/she is asking Kim her opinion on something other than baseball or food. In fact, let me ask some different questions. Kim, what did you think of the end of the Talladega NASCAR race? Do you have any problem with Keselowski winning? Do you prefer deodorant or anti-perspirant? Was the band Genesis better with Peter Gabriel or Phil Collins as lead singer? Is the expression: “If you lie down with dogs, you will get fleas” prejudicial to fleas? Was the moon landing faked? Who would win a bare-knuckle boxing match between Abraham Lincoln and Golda Meir? Have you ever raised chickens? Were the ancient Egyptians really creative or just good central planners? Is one man?s garbage really another man?s gold? If Tony LaRussa is so damn smart, why can’t he speak French?

    shiney42 –
The questions and sentences sound like those of a very little girl (I hope). It can get pretty rough in the comments section of a blog. I just would hate to see a little girl get creamed. As for Tomy LaRussa, I am wrong to hate his “genius” title?

I don’t think that Paulie was really up front with you about his answers. How in the world could he consider Bobbie Abreu even remotely close to himself in how he played right field? Abreu hardly ever caught the ball out there; he was always running around with his glove in the air, nowhere near the ball. When Paul was out there and a ball went to right field, you knew it was going to be caught. With Abreu, you just held your breath, hoping he’d get somewhere near it.
Tell Burnett to cut it out. I don’t like this cream pie nonsense.

    Hi Kim,

Would you please tell Michael Kay to stop calling Seattle
pitcher Felix Hernandez “King Felix” !!!!! This is an insult to
the Yankee players & to all Yankee fans. Doesn’t Kay know who he works for by now???!!!!!!

    Joe S.
